Ağrı Merkez Cumhuriyet İlkokulunda öğrenim gören birinci sınıf öğrencileri okul hayatlarının ilk dönemeci olan okuma ve yazma öğrenimini başarı ile tamamladılar.

İl Milli Eğitim Müdürü Hasan Kökrek’in il genelinde başlattığı okuma seferberliğini dikkate alarak Cumhuriyet İlkokulu öğrencileri dört aylık kısa bir sürede okuma ve yazmaya geçtiler. 1. Sınıf öğrencileri okuma bayramı pastalarını keserek, birbirinden güzel şiirler, şarkılar ve sergiledikleri skeçlerle veli ve öğretmenlerden büyük alkış aldılar. Program sonunda okul müdürü ve öğretmenler tarafından rozet ve okuma belgesi takdim edildi. Okuma bayramına velilerin büyük ilgi göstermesi dikkat çekti.
