After killing his mother and sister in Bahçelievler, Uğur Falay committed suicide in Nusretiye Mosque in Beyoğlu. It is reported that he asked his mother for money and when she refused, he carried out the tragic act. The bodies were taken to Adli Tıp Kurumu for autopsy and later handed over to the family. A funeral prayer was held in Yenibosna before the bodies were sent to Batman for burial.
