Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyesi’nin düzenlediği “İlham Veren Hayatlar” başlıklı etkinlik kapsamında Tarihçi ve Akademisyen Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı, Antalyalılarla buluştu. Tanzimat'tan Cumhuriyet'e Yerel Yönetim Geleneği konulu söyleşide Ortaylı, Türkiye'nin milli iktisadi bünyesi ve tarımın önemine vurgu yaptı.

Köylülerin desteklenmesi, eğitim almalarının teşvik edilmesi gerektiğini belirten Ortaylı, belediyelerin gelecekte değişmesi gerektiğini ve sosyal devrimin kaçınılmaz olduğunu ifade etti. Söyleşinin sonunda Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyesi yetkilileri tarafından Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı'ya teşekkür plaketi verildi.
